Do you take insurance?
Freedom Functional Medicine does not accept any insurance, including Medicare or Medicaid.
Many healthcare providers have moved away from accepting insurance due to the increasing frustration of having insurance companies dictate the care they are able to provide. In the traditional insurance model, every patient encounter must be submitted as a billing claim for the provider to get paid, and they only receive a small portion of the payment. To make ends meet, providers often have to see 3,000 patients or more each year, averaging 30-40 patient visits per day. This is required just to cover the costs of running an office and earning a sustainable income.
The insurance system limits the type of care patients receive. Providers are restricted to addressing only the issues that are directly related to specific care visits. Often times, insurance companies dictate labs that may be drawn and will not cover necessary labs needed to make a diagnosis that aligns in the functional medicine space.
